Missing the Waves…

In just a few weeks I am going to be in Florida, and I can hardly wait! My husband and I will be flying to Orlando first, to spend time with my Dad and Step-Mom. Then we will be going to the Daytona Beach area to connect with family: my brother and his family, as well as to see my aunt and uncle who live about a hour from there.

One of the coolest parts of the trip is that for the first time we will be staying in a hotel right on the beach…that will be like heaven for us! To hear the waves crashing, and to take a cup of coffee down to the shore and watch the sunrise…that has been my dream vacation for as long as I can remember!

I grew up on Long Island, and then moved to Florida when I was 11;  some of my fondest memories are of the beach. My husband is from California, so he also grew up on the coast. There is something almost mesmerizing about watching the waves and listening to them crash onto the shore. So peaceful.

I believe that the ocean is one of God’s most beautiful creations…so powerful and mysterious. So for tonight I’ll go to sleep with the aide of a sound machine set on a steady rain, but my dreams will include sounds of the sea…

I pray that you will all have sweet dreams tonight.
